At the May 29 bargaining session, the university submitted the revised article on proposed working hours, applicable to Food and Dining Services. The university also submitted for review a joint statement of intent relating to the staffing organization in Food and Dining Services. Both documents were ratified by the parties.
The parties also discussed a proposed letter of agreement relating to the proposed change of shift in Food and Dining Services. After a final review of the document, the parties decided to put it aside as it was not solving the issue discussed in previous meetings.
Discussions took place on the job posting process relating to the effective date of appointment and payment of new rates. The parties came to an agreement on this topic and the university will draft a proposal for the next meeting, scheduled for June 12.
The 3 bargaining units in question are: computing centre, printing services and facilities management/residences/Faculty Club, represented by SEU, local 800 (Service Employees Union, local section 800, affiliated with the Quebec Labour Federation.
