Agreement with SEU on overtime clauses (trades)

At the negotiation session of January 31, 2014, the university presented a modified letter of agreement on work hours and explained its position on overtime work compensated as time off.  After further discussions on this topic, an agreement was finally reached.  A modified article on overtime conversion was ratified, which will apply to each of the 4 units.

The university expressed its concerns about the current wording and application of the overtime clauses, and tabled possible solutions that could considered. The union is presently taking into consideration these solutions and will comment on them at the next meeting, scheduled for February 13.

The 4 bargaining units involved in these negotiations are employees from trades and from powerhouse downtown, and employees from trades and from powerhouse Macdonald campus, represented by SEU, local 800 (Service Employees Union, local section 800, affiliated with the Quebec Labour Federation).
