Supplemental Notional Arrangement

Effective January 1, 2012, the Supplemental Notional Arrangement is available for eligible employees who continue to be employed at the University post age 65. 

Once you reach age 65, both your contributions and University contributions under the McGill University Pension Plan stop.  It is at this point that the Supplemental Notional Arrangement begins.  Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to receive an additional benefit at retirement from the Arrangement. 

The University alone assumes the cost of the Arrangement.  To make it even easier, you do not need to take any further action to enroll as your participation is automatic once you reach age 65.  You do not contribute towards the Supplemental Notional Arrangement but you have the option to make Additional Voluntary Contributions towards the pension plan if you wish to save more for your retirement.
