Department of History and Classical Studies Annual Homecoming Lecture: Professor Lorenz Lüthi, “Rethinking the Cold War”

Professor Lorenz Lüthi of the Department of History and Classical Studies, McGill, has just published an award-winning book, Cold Wars: Asia, the Middle East, Europe (Cambridge University Press, 2020). He is also the author of The Sino-Soviet Split: Cold War in the Communist World (Princeton University Press, 2008). In this lecture he invites us to rethink the Cold War, focusing on how regional and national developments beyond the USSR and USA shaped the course of the global Cold War
