Whether it's making a plan to get home after a night on the town, or if you are hosting a party and you want to make sure everyone has a great time, McGill has lots of services and resources that can help you make that happen!

Student Emergency Response Team (M-SERT)

The McGill Student Emergency Response Team (M-SERT) is a student-run volunteer service, supported by the Students' Society of McGill University, whose members provide emergency first aid services to the McGill University and Montreal communities.  All volunteers are Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Responder level. M-SERT responders carry naloxone, which can be used to reverse opioid overdoses.

SSMU DriveSafe is a service run by the Student Society of McGill University. Their voluteers drive students safely home from anywhere on the Island of Montreal for free.  Drivesafe runs on Friday and Saturday nights from 11:00 pm to 3:00 am. They will try their best; however, please don’t rely on DriveSafe to get home. Drivesafe can also be booked in advance for large events.

Walksafe is a volunteer SSMU service that provides free night-time accompaniment for those who are feel uncomfortable, or who are unable to walk home alone. The service is available to anyone in Montreal, and volunteers will walk or metro to and from any destination on the island. After their hours, Security Services can also walk you home, if Walksafe isn't available, for those living near campus.

Healthy McGill's harm reduction team attends on and off campus McGill events with alcohol. They can help you make your event safer for providing safer paryting supplies - including safer sex supplies like condoms - as well as by acting as a resource for your guests.  Send us an healthymcgill.drugeducation [at] (subject: Harm%20Reduction%20Team%20Request) (email) to request our harm reduction team, and be sure to include a description of your event, the date, time, and location, and how many attendees you are expecting.

Healthy McGill provides party kits for any McGill students hosting a party.  Party kits typically contain condoms, lubricant, drink coasters, and business cards with important numbers. Fill out the Party Kit Request Form to make a request. Please allow one week between request and pick-up time.
