DESCRIPTION:Join us for an engaging event featuring researchers Liisa Galea
and Robert-Paul Juster\, who will discuss the importance of sex- and gend
er-based analysis plus (SGBA+) in neuroscience research. This event will i
nclude a Q&A session and a networking reception. \n	\n	This session is open
to all McGill trainees and researchers—don’t miss this opportunity to lear
n\, discuss and network!\n\nSpace is limited. Secure your spot now!\n\nWhy
Attend?\n\n\n	Learn how SGBA+ can enhance neuroscience research and lead t
o more equitable outcomes\n	Hear from researchers who successfully integrat
e SGBA+ into their work\n	Discuss methods for incorporating SGBA+ in your o
wn research\n	Connect with fellow researchers and trainees interested in SG
BA+\n		 \n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\nLiisa Galea\n	Senior Scientist and Leader of the
Women’s Health Research Cluster at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Hea
lth (CAMH)\n\nDr. Liisa Galea is a senior scientist and the inaugural wome
nmind™ Treliving Family Chair in Women’s Mental Health\, and she also lead
s the Women’s Health Research Cluster at the Centre for Addiction and Ment
al Health (CAMH). Dr. Galea comes to CAMH after being a professor at Unive
rsity of British Columbia. Her PhD in neuroscience (Western University) wa
s followed by postdoctoral training at the Rockefeller University. She was
  a distinguished university scholar\, a two-time NSERC Discovery Accelerat
or Award holder\, a fellow at the International Behavioral Neuroscience So
ciety and a Mortyn Jones Prize and Vancouver YWCA Women of Distinction awa
rd winner. She is the principal editor of Frontiers in Neuroendocrinology\
, the President of Organization for the Study of Sex Differences and co-Vi
ce-President of the Canadian Organization for Sex and Gender Research. She
serves on advisory boards\, editorial boards and peer review panels inter
nationally and nationally. Dr. Galea is a tireless advocate for women’s he
alth research and for sex- and gender-based analyses to improve mental hea
lth for all.\n\nRobert-Paul Juster\n	Associate Professor in the Department
of Psychology and Addiction at Université de Montréal\n\n Dr. Robert-Paul
Juster\, PhD\, is an IPN graduate (McGill) and currently an Associate Prof
essor in the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction at the University of M
ontreal. Dr. Juster leads the Center on Sex*Gender\, Allostasis\, and Resi
lience (CESAR) based at the Research Centre of the Montreal Mental Health
University Institute. Dr. Juster’s research focuses on stress and resilien
ce using a sex and gender lens. Dr. Juster has expertise in the measuremen
t of allostatic load\, the ‘wear and tear’ of chronic stress. In much of D
 r. Juster’s research\, he and his team of aim to better understand how sti
gma\, stress and strain influence the health of equity deserving groups. H
is research program has also included studying allostatic load among many
diverse groups across lifespan development with a particular focus on usin
g allostatic load as a marker of accelerated aging in biological psychiatr
 y.\n
