DESCRIPTION:Registration for this event is now closed. Stay tuned for more
workshops!\n\nArtificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly impacting how w
e learn about the brain and take care of our brain health. While AI has po
tential to support equity\, such as by facilitating access to health care\
, it also brings major risks of deepening biases and harmful processes tha
t are already present in our society. Proactive\, intentional practices ar
e key to building technologies that benefit a diverse population and foste
 r well-being for all.\n\nSign up for a two-hour virtual workshop with Fali
sha Karpati\, PhD to learn how to: \n\n\n	Identify sources of bias and pote
ntial harms across the AI life cycle\, from study design to deployment.\n	L
earn about social and technical practices that you can implement in your p
rojects to address bias and facilitate fair\, inclusive outcomes.\n	Explore
examples of real projects from medical imaging\, health care\, social ser
vices and other fields that demonstrate equity-related risks and benefits.
\n\n\nThe workshop will combine speaker presentations\, independent activi
ties and optional group discussion.\n	All are welcome\; no previous AI expe
rience is needed.\n\nThis workshop will be held virtually on Zoom. \n
