Even though peer-reviewed articles are the holy grail of publishing, do not neglect the power of a well-crafted press release to increase your impact. Attend this workshop to be introduced to the form, function, and style of an effective press release.
Participate in this workshop and you will learn the following:
- how to engage mass media to disseminate research
- how to structure a press release
- what are some ways to identify the newsworthy aspects of research to include in a press release
You will get added benefit by bringing a copy of your existing research paper to be used during the session.
The workshop will be led by Dr. Yevgen Nazarenko, McGill postdoc, who has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and delivered numerous talks. He has successfully partnered with the McGill Media Relations Office to share his research with a broader audience.
The workshop will be held on McGill’s downtown campus on Tuesday, September 19, 2pm-4pm. Registrants will receive the workshop location in a confirmation email.
