The majority of graduate programs are NOT impacted by recent government announcements about tuition increases.

PhD students from the rest of Canada will continue to pay Quebec fees.
International PhD fees will see the same 3% increase as Quebec fees.

Preparing for your first day

Now that you have accepted your offer of admission and registered for the upcoming semester, you are almost ready to start your first day.

  1. Carefully review your offer of admission

    Your offer of admission may have included certain conditions. Carefully review them and address them as early as possible.

    As needed, reach out to your Graduate Program Coordinator for guidance.

  2. Login to Minerva

    Once your conditions of admission have been met use your McGill ID and your Personal Identification Number (PIN) to login into Minerva. Through Minerva you can access your student file which includes registration information and your e-Bill for tuition and fees.

    The Minerva PIN is determined as follows:

    --->If you have never studied or worked at at McGill: the default PIN is your date of birth (YYMMDD). For example, if you were born on July 25, 1989, your default PIN will be 890725

    --->Curent or past students or employees at McGill may continue to use their Minerva PIN without resetting it.

  3. Setup your other accounts and IT tools

    Consult the myMcGill portal to access Minerva, myCourses, your McGill email, and various library resources.

    Update your profile. Login to Minerva to update your address, telephone number, and personal information.

    Visit Student Records to learn how to add a preferred First Name, to change your email alias or Student ID card.

  4. Check your tuition and other fees

    Learn about tuition and fees by visiting the Student Accounts website.

    Pay your tuition on time to avoid penalties. Review the payment deadlines by visiting the Deadlines and penalties webpage.

    Did you receive an award, scholarship, or financial assistance? Visit the Awards and financial assistance webpage learn more about when the funds will appear in your account.
