Final Thesis for Faculty/Staff

Final Thesis submission regulations

  • If you do not have access to Minerva, you will have to contact thesis.gps [at] (Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies) directly to request that your student’s final thesis be approved on your behalf.
  • If you have access to Minerva but are not using your official McGill e-mail address, please ensure that you redirect e-mail from that address to your preferred e-mail address. The instructions to redirect your e-mail are on the Network and Communication Services web-site. If you are a non-McGill supervisor, your e-mail will go to your e-mail address listed on the Nomination of Examiners form.

Name & title changes

  • Students can make minor changes (e.g. accents) to their name using the Minerva Name Change Form. In order to legally change their name, they must contact Enrolment Services.
  • The thesis title cannot be changed in Minerva. Any changes to the title must be approved by you (supervisor) and requests for such changes must be made in writing to thesis.gps [at] (GPS). If the thesis title is changed, new McGill and National Library of Canada licences must be submitted to GPS. These forms can be sent scanned to thesis.gps [at] Typo corrections to the title do not require new licences.
