I am an international applicant who cannot take physical English proficiency tests as centres are closed. What are my options?

In response to COVID-19, both the IELTS and TOEFL tests have been made available online for students who are unable to take the tests at a test center. Please see the information on their respective websites.

Electronic copies of official transcripts and proofs of degree can be sent to officialschooldocs [at] mcgill.ca.

When is the acceptance deadline for my offer of admission?

Acceptance deadlines vary by department for graduate studies. We recommend that you contact the graduate program director in your department. If the deadline has passed, you can request an extension. We are asking departments to be flexible given the circumstances.

How will classes be held in the Winter 2021 semester?

The University has not yet made an announcement regarding the Winter semester.

Can I defer my Winter admission to Fall 2021?

Deferral is a possibility but you do not have to make that decision now. We ask that you wait until we can give you a clearer picture of what the winter will look like. You can also accept your offer and then defer or decline later.

If I have declined my offer, can I change my mind?

Yes. Contact your program to change the decision on your file.
