When is the acceptance deadline for my offer of admission?

Acceptance deadlines vary by department for graduate studies. We recommend that you contact the graduate program director in your department. If the deadline has passed, you can request an extension.

Can I defer my Fall 2021 admission?

Deferral is a possibility but you do not have to make that decision now. You can also accept your offer and then defer or decline later.

What if my university cannot provide official transcripts to complete my admissions file?

Electronic copies of official transcripts and proofs of degree can be sent to officialschooldocs [at] mcgill.ca.

If I have declined my offer, can I change my mind?

Yes. Contact your program to change the decision on your file.

How much is tuition for graduate programs at McGill?

Tuition varies by degree/program and residency status (Quebec, Non-Quebec Canadian, International). Please consult the Fee Calculator. Additional information on tuition rates can be found here.

Is it too late to obtain/apply for funding?

Contact your department to ask about funding options. They can give you the best advice based on your program. Please also consult the GPS website for upcoming funding opportunities.

I am an incoming graduate student and would need to self-isolate (quarantine) for 14 days upon arrival in Montreal. What resources are available to me?

Does McGill offer housing to graduate students?

There is some housing for graduate students available. Montreal also has affordable rentals and excellent public transport. Consult McGill’s Student Housing site, which also lists off-campus rentals.

Do I need to know French? Are there opportunities to learn?

You do not need to know French to live in Montreal. However, there are many opportunities to learn French and explore the French side of McGill.
