DESCRIPTION:Global and Indigenous Health Nursing (GAIHN) McGill  will be ho
 sting a fundraising speaker event at the Rialto Theatre on October 5th at 
 6pm. Speakers Andrea Auger from the First Nations Child and Family Caring 
 Society and Glenda Sandy\, a First Nation nurse\, will share their experie

 y Tickets\n\nAbout the speakers:\n\nAndrea Auger\n\nRaised in Thunder Bay\
 , Ontario\, Andrea Auger is a proud Ojibwa member of the Pays Plat First N
 ation. After completing a Master of Arts in 2008\, she joined the Caring S
 ociety team to work on the Touchstones of Hope. Currently Andrea is the Re
 conciliation and Research Manager and Coordinating Editor of the First Peo
 ples Child and Family Review. With her background in Education\, Andrea is
  passionate about teaching\, mentoring and learning from others\, especial
 ly children\, youth and Elders. Her main areas of interest include engagem
 ent in reconciliation\, reconciliation approaches\, child and youth engage
 ment\, and human rights.  \n\nGlenda Sandy\, RN\, BNSc\, MSc -SAC(c)\n\nGl
 enda Sandy is a Registered Nurse\, on educational leave from the CLSC Nask
 api in Kawawachikamach\, QC. She is currently pursuing a Maîtrise en Santé
  Communautaire at Université Laval in Québec City. A proud Naskapi-Cree wo
 man\, she was born and raised in Schefferville\, QC and is a member of bot
 h the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach in Quebec and Pimicikamak Cree Nat
 ion in Manitoba. Her major in her program of study is Health Promotion and
  she wishes to return to her community after completing her studies to foc
 us on community based approaches in health prevention/promotion program de
 velopment. Her main areas of interest are First Nations patient advocacy\,
  education and capacity building.\n
