DESCRIPTION:This full day conference aims to provide an opportunity to thos
 e interested in environmental health sciences to learn about the ground-br
 eaking work conducted on the topic in the region and beyond.  An exciting 
 agenda of keynote speakers and presentations will bring together key playe
 rs in academia and government coming from the research and policy arenas\,
  providing numerous networking opportunities.\n\n \n\n \n\n\n	\n		Conference 
 agenda\n	\n\n\n\n	Keynote Speakers:\n\nDr. Brenda Eskenazi is a Jennifer and
  Brian Maxwell Professor of Maternal and Child Health and Epidemiology at 
 the University of California\, Berkeley and the Principal Investigator and
  Director of the NIEHS/EPA Center for Environmental Research and Children’
 s Health (CERCH). She is an internationally renowned neuropsychologist and
  epidemiologist whose long-standing research interest has been the effects
  of toxicants including lead\, solvents\, environmental tobacco smoke\, di
 oxin\, and pesticides on human reproduction and child development.  Dr. Es
 kenazi directs studies on 3 continents\, has authored or co-authored more 
 than 250 papers\, and has recently been awarded the John Goldsmith Award f
 or lifetime achievement in environmental epidemiology.\n\nDr. Michael Brau
 er is a Professor in the School of Population and Public Health at The Uni
 versity of British Columbia.  He also directs the Bridge Program – a strat
 egic training program linking public health\, engineering and policy.  His
  research focuses on the relationships between the built environment and h
 ealth and on the assessment of exposure and health impacts of air pollutio
 n.  He has participated in monitoring and epidemiological studies througho
 ut the world and served on advisory committees to the World Health Organiz
 ation\, the Climate and Clean Air Coalition\, the US National Academy of S
 ciences\, the Royal Society of Canada\, the International Joint Commission
  and governments in North America and Asia.  He is an Associate Editor of 
 Environmental Health Perspectives and a member of the Core Analytic Team f
 or the Global Burden of Disease.\n\n \n
