 am Patel is Professor and Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow at the Lon
 don School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (UK). He is the Joint Director o
 f the School's Centre for Global Mental Health and Professor at the Public
  Health Foundation of India. He serves on the WHO's Expert Advisory Group 
 for Mental Health and the Global Agenda Council for Chronic Conditions and
  Mental Health and is co-chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Gra
 nd Challenges in Global Mental Health. As editor of the Lancet Series on G
 lobal Mental Health (2007) and the PLoS Medicine series on packages of car
 e for mental disorders (2009) he led the efforts to launch the Movement fo
 r Global Mental Health. He also serves on the board of Sangath\, an Indian
  NGO which he founded.\n \n
