Global Health Night 2015-2016

Global Health Night 2015-2016 was held on November 3rd, 2015 from 5:30 to 8:30PM at the New Residence Hall Ballroom

Global Health Night  is an annual event held to highlight and foster the involvement of students and faculty at McGill in global health related fields.

Each year, there are multiple awards given out during Global Health Night including the Steinberg Global Health Postdoctoral Fellowships, the Faculty of Medicine's Chan Prize, and our Fall Travel Awards.

During the wine and cheese reception, guests have the opportunity to browse student poster presentations. Students and student groups from all backgrounds and disciplines present posters about their global health-related experiences, clinical rotations and projects!

We were especiallly proud to welcome as our keynote speaker Dr. Mario Raviglione, Director of the TB Programme at the World Health Organization. His lecture was titled: “Role of WHO in global health in the SDG era: from TB to Ebola and more…”

McGill University is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous Peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg Nations. McGill honours, recognizes, and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which peoples of the world now gather. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
