This FAQ will be updated as needed up to the start of the event on November 9th at 4:00 PM.

How do I register for Global Health Night / Friesen Lecture 2023?

Register via the form on this page. Registrations to attend Global Health Night in person will close on Tuesday, November 8, at 5 PM. If you want to join us in-person, but didn't get to register, you may join us at the venue. However, if the event is at capacity we reserve the right to turn away anyone who did not register for the event in advance. Registration for the online event will remain open.

    I registered for Global Health Night / Friesen Lecture 2023, where do I join?

    A few days before the event on November 9th, you will receive an email from McGill Global Health Programs with instructions on how to participate. This email will be sent to the email address you used to RSVP to the event. The sender will be “McGill Global Health Programs” and the sender's email address email will be globalhealthteam.dgph [at] mcgill.ca.

    In-person venue: New Residence Hall Ballroom (3625, Avenue du Parc)

    I’m unsure which email address I used to register for Global Health Night.

    • Try searching for your Global Health Night registration confirmation email in your various email accounts in order to determine which email address you used to register for Global Health Night.
    • The email address you used to RSVP will have received an email from the address ghp.med [at] mcgill.ca with the subject line: “Thank for your Global Health Night RSVP!”.
    • That message may have landed in your spam folder.

    I registered but I cannot be there at 4 PM EST. Can I still join?

    • Yes! You can browse the Student Poster Fair at anytime between 4:00-5:30 PM.
    • The main program, including keynote speaker, will begin at 5:30 PM.

    Will the Student Poster Fair will have an online component?

    The Student Poster Fair is only available in person this year.

    How do I find a specific poster?

    A poster directory will be available near the entrance of the Student Poster Fair.

    How do I watch the keynote address online?

    You can watch the keynote address live on YouTube. The link to the YouTube page will be sent to all who have registered to attend via email a few before the event.

    Can I pose questions to the keynote speakers?

    Those attending Global Health Night / Friesen Lecture 2023 online will be able to ask the keynote speakers questions during the event using an online form (link to be posted beforehand). Those attending Global Health Night / Friesen Lecture 2023 in-person will be invited to pose their questions during the moderated Q&A session following the keynote lectures.

    Is there an online version of Global Health Night / Friesen Lecture 2023?

    Yes, the main program including keynote speakers will be live-streamed on Youtube, beginning at 5:30 PM. Please register in advance. The Student Poster Fair is only available in-person.

    I missed the livestream. Can I watch a recording?

    A recording of the main program is available on YouTube.

    What COVID-19 precautions will be in place for the in-person event?

    • Masks are encouraged and will be provided to attendees.
    • Physical distancing is recommended to the greatest extent possible.
    • Hand sanitizer will be provided to attendees.
    • We expect all attendees to please respect coughing and sneezing etiquette.
    • Also, if you are feeling sick, please stay home and participate online.
