Inaugural seminar of the Department

Published: 3 October 2023

On September 20th, 2023, the Department of Global and Public Health held its inaugural seminar. We welcomed Dr. Louise Pilote for a talk titled Sex and Gender Determinants of Vascular Disease in the Global Context. The event was held both on Zoom and in-person in the School of Population and Global Health. For those who missed the event, you can review her slides at this link

The event was also an opportunity to congratulate Dr. Madhukar Pai for his appointment as Chair of the Department of Global and Public Health, and to thank Dr. Catherine Hankins, who served as interim Chair of the Department since 2022.

Mark your calendars and register for the upcoming seminars of the DGPH:

McGill University is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous Peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg Nations. McGill honours, recognizes, and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which peoples of the world now gather. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
