Dr. Marylise Boutros

Her clinical interests are advanced minimally invasive approaches to benign and malignant colorectal and anorectal diseases. She treats colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, fecal incontinence and anorectal disorders.

Dr. Boutros heads the JGH Colon and Rectal Surgery Research Program, has multiple projects and grants focused on innovation and outcome research. Dr. Boutros also plays an active role in the General Surgery Resident Education at McGill University. She holds the rank of full professor of Surgery at McGill University.

She earned her medical degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She then completed residency in General Surgery at McGill. She completed subspecialty training in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida as well as an Advanced Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida. She is certified by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery, The American Board of Surgery, The American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and holds a special certificate in Colon and Rectal Surgery from the College des medicines du Quebec. Dr. Boutros is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and The American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. She sits on several Committees of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
