Encapsulating our Legacy: A Look into the Past and a Glimpse into the Future

2023 marks the 45th year of the establishment of McGill Cancer Center, which has now become our incredible Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute.

In celebration of this landmark anniversary, we are launching a Time Capsule.

We invite all labs to fill a Time Capsule Box with items that captures your research at the GCI in the 2020s and to be remembered by future generations of scientist in 20 years. During our celebration of World Cancer Day, labs will have the chance to present the content to be “immortalized”, which will then be locked in our Time Capsule and to be opened in 2043.

(Ideas for items: print out of articles/protocols, receipt for a reagent for which you predict the price to drop/increase in 20 years, small lab equipment like cool tube, notes)

Boxes will be dropped off at your labs the week of January 16th and will be collected on January 24th.

We hope you will join us to celebrate our collective legacy in cancer research by taking a look into the past and snatching a glimpse into the future through our Time Capsule.
