Colonoscopy (large intestine, rectum)
Indication
To verify for presence of inflammation and/or polyps.
Procedure Duration: about one hour.
Preparation The day before the test:
Last meal at noon
Until midnight clear fluid diet
Midnight - nothing by mouth
Your child will need to take a laxative (which you will buy at your pharmacy) to be able to clean the intestine as much as possible. It is very important to have a clear view of the wall of his/her intestine. Explanation on how to give it, will be given to you by your nurse or doctor and written to you on paper.
