Student Matching Programs

International Student Buddy Program
Open to all incoming McGill international students
The International Student Buddy Program assists new international students in adjusting to their new surroundings and facilitates students' integration into the McGill and Montreal communities. Visit the International Buddy Program webpage to sign up!
New Student Mentorship Program
Open to all incoming McGill domestic students

The New Student Mentorship Program facilitates ongoing and meaningful connections between new and returning domestic (Canadian) McGill students. Incoming students are matched with a trained, upper-year mentor in the same faculty or department (when possible). Through regular, one-on-one check-ins throughout the academic year, mentors share valuable first-hand experience on how to navigate university life and campus resources. Monthly check-ins between mentors and mentees include topics such as effective study strategies, student-life balance, campus resources, and goal setting. Visit the New Student Mentorship Program webpage to learn more and sign up!

First Friend
Open to all incoming McGill students

To help ease your virtual transition to McGill, International Student Services (ISS) & Campus Life & Engagement (CL&E), proud members of Student Services, invite you to connect with one another based in your time zone as part of our newly launched First Friend Program! First Friend is a peer-to-peer program where you’ll be matched with a fellow new McGill student (not to be confused with a mentorship program). Sign up here!
