We're proud to announce that Dr. Gillian Bartlett, Associate Professor and the Research and Graduate Program Director at the Department of Family Medicine, was recently elected Chair of the Committee on Advancing the Science of Family Medicine (CASFM) by the North American Primary Care Research Group (NAPCRG) Board of Directors.
The Isaac Tannenbaum Annual Research Day on May 29 brought together essentially all of our residents from our six Family Medicine Units and our three satellites sites. The resident oral presentations were fantastic with many were excellent examples of practice-based research pointing to how practice can be improved by research. These presentations were complemented by our guest speakers, Dr. Howard Bergman who spoke about our growing academic department and Dr.

Peter Nugus and Charo Rodriguez, from the Department of Family Medicine have been successful in bidding for the department and Montreal to host the "2018 International Conference on Organizational Behavior in Health Care (OBHC)". The theme of the conference is: "Coordinating Care Across Boundaries and Borders: Systems, Networks and Collaborations".

Congratulations to Dr Roland Grad for being awarded the AFMC's John Ruedy Award for innovation in Medical Education!
On April 26, in Vancouver, during the Presidential Address Awards Ceremony at the Canadian Conference in Medical Education (CCME), Dr Grad has received his AFMC John Ruedy Award for innovation in medical Education. The award is given to an individual or group who has developed innovative print materials, electronic learning aids or other teaching aids.

Dr. David Eidelman, Dean of Medicine at McGill University and Chairman of the conference of Deans of the four Faculties of Medicine in Quebec, was quoted this week in the Journal de Montréal.
