Training Workshop: Introduction to Qualitative Research (in French)

Wednesday, October 16, 2019 13:30to16:30
Department of Family Medicine, 5858 Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Suite 300, Montreal, QC, CA

The Department of Family Medicine, in partnership with the Unité de soutien SRAP Québec, is presenting "Introduction to Qualitative Research",  a training workshop facilitated by Paula Bush, PhD, Scientific Coordinator, Methodological Development Component, Quebec SRAP Support Unit and Academic Associate, Department of Family Medicine.

Qualitative research makes it possible to explore aspects of a problem that cannot be revealed by the figures. Indeed, figures sometimes have limitations in translating or explaining the factors that condition certain aspects of a social phenomenon (e.g., adherence to drug treatment).

Main objectives
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of qualitative research and recognize different contexts in which it is relevant;
  • Formulate qualitative research questions;
  • Recognize different methods or techniques for collecting and analyzing qualitative data.

Target audience
This workshop is intended for researchers and students in the field of quantitative methods, clinicians and medical residents and managers.
