Hosted by our Guest Speaker, Dr. Tina Montreuil (Educational & Counselling Psychology)

12:00-1:00pm

COVID-19 has burdened parents, yet has also paved the way for a larger discussion on ways to promote mental well-being. The ability for parents to regulate their own emotions predicts frequent and effective reliance on supportive parenting practices. Supportive parenting is best achieved when a connected, caring, and responsive relationship with children is fostered early on and more importantly, supportive parenting has been shown to impact child development and overall well-being even in adulthood. As such, the current pandemic context provides an opportunity to develop stronger families.
