There are gaps between employer needs and graduate student skills. Graduate students need to be better prepared for the workforce outside Experimental Medicine. Employers desire graduate trainees to emerge with a variety of important transferable skills such as cross-cultural and cross disciplinary communication and teamwork, time management, and efficient project management experience. Employers value students with integrative learning experience and practice skills in a real-world context
