Vision

Mission
Enrolment Services supports students’ achievement of their educational goals, the objectives of McGill’s academic and service units, and the University’s mission by designing and delivering high quality registrarial student and enrolment services for a broad range of people and organizations.  We are also committed to enriching the diversity of McGill’s student body through collaborative community engagement, recruitment, and outreach initiatives.   We are a community of change leaders who are dedicated to continuous improvement and we achieve this by leveraging our creativity and expertise, supporting each other’s professional development, and cultivating positive relationships within our community and beyond.

Mandate and responsibilities
A unit within Student Life and Learning, Enrolment Services is a strategic and operational team that provides expert registrarial student and enrolment services to the McGill University community, including the following groups: prospective students and applicants; admitted and current students; incoming and outgoing exchange students; research trainees; postdoctoral students; families; high school guidance counselors and CEGEP advisors; alumni; media and the general public. As one of the few units at McGill that has a privileged 3-dimensional view of the University, Enrolment Services is a leader and partner in many pan-institutional projects designed to effect organizational change.  Guided by Senate-approved policies, provincial legislation, the University’s academic plan, and the McGill Commitment, Enrolment Services’ responsibilities span the academic and student life of the University. The unit has shared accountability for: strategic enrolment planning and the achievement of enrolment targets and objectives; undergraduate student recruitment; Montreal community engagement; graduate and undergraduate admissions; academic program management; registration; government enrolment reporting; classroom and examination scheduling; exam invigilation; incoming and outbound exchange term abroad; the management of the official student record; convocation; systems, project and change management;  Provides operational and ad-hoc reporting, data analysis and management of the data warehouse; acts as trustee for student data to ensure confidentiality is maintained and access to central student systems is based on legitimate business requirements; mass email communications to students; and, other student success and support services. By design and necessity, the work of Enrolment Services is carried out in collaboration with various units at McGill as well as with external community stakeholders, including but not limited to: alumni; an international collegial network; a national registrarial and admissions network; and school guidance counsellors and advisors worldwide.
