***Special edition of Explore McGill on Monday October 22 2018***
On Monday October 22 2018 the morning activity will be a lecture followed by a Q&A with 2018 Gairdner Award winner, Dr. Peter Hegemann, Professor for Neurosciences, Experimental Biophysic, Department of Biology at Humboldt University of Berlin. Dr. Hegemann is an optogenetics pioneer, making ground-breaking research in the treatment of neuronal illnesses. His insights could eventually contribute to the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, autism and schizophrenia. This is a rare opportunity for students to ask a successful scientist about the path that led to his achievements. For more information about Dr. Hegemann and the Gairdner Award, please click here.
Explore McGill activities are made possible in collaboration with a number of youth outreach organizations associated with McGill University. The activities are primarily determined by the availability of the outreach program members.
