DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed for members of academic search commit
 tees and will explore various topics such as Equity\, Diversity\, and Incl
 usion (EDI) imperatives in the Canadian academy\, obligations and objectiv
 es under Quebec legislation and McGill's employment equity policy\, and st
 rategies and tools for enhancing equity in the recruitment and review proc
 ess.\n	\n	By attending this workshop\, participants will be better able to:
 \n\n\n	Deepen their understanding of the context\, commitments\, and policy
 /legal framework for employment equity at McGill\n	Plan and implement a rec
 ruitment process that is both active and strategic across the all stages o
 f the search\n	Consider the role bias can play in shaping selection and rev
 iew\, and how best to take steps to minimize its impact\n	Develop steps for
  an effective\, strategic\, and equitable academic search that leads to th
 e recruitment and appointment of excellent candidates\n\n\n\n	Note that thi
 s workshop is required for all members of academic search committees. Facu
 lty serving on search committees need to attend this session every three y
 ears in order to refresh and/or update their knowledge. This workshop is b
 ased on peer-reviewed literature and participants will have access upon re
 quest to supplemental information with material relevant to the field in w
 hich their search is being conducted.\n	\n	Note that an Outlook calendar inv
