Biography: 

Maria Aurora Nunez is the Harassment and Discrimination Officer, Office for Mediation and Reporting in the Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic). She carries out investigations under the Policy on Harassment and Discrimination. She is a lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. Previously, she worked for the Ontario Human Rights Commission and the Law Commission of Ontario. She has also worked at various universities, including most recently at York University as a Policy Advisor and member of the COVID-19 Emergency Management Team. She founded the Queen’s University Disability and Mental Health Law Club and is a recipient of a Women’s Law Association of Ontario Advocacy Award.

Maria holds a BA (Hon.) in Psychology from the University of Calgary and a JD from Queen’s University.
