Jean St. Vil

Jean Saint-Vil is Special Advisor to the Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation at McGill University. He joined McGill in 2019 after 27 years at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) where he held various positions, including: Director of Policy and International Relations and Associate Vice-President in charge of the Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) programs. Mr. Saint-Vil served as Americas Region Representative on the Global Research Council’s Executive Support Group (ESG) and Canadian Representative on the OECD’s Global Science Forum. A father of two, Jean Saint-Vil lives with his family in Ottawa-Gatineau. 

McGill University is on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations.
