 esource Estimation\n\nAbstract: The significant components of resource est
 imation pertains to data management\, data analysis\, geological interpret
 ation and modelling\, geostatistics\, quality assurance/quality control\, 
 change of support\, block model interpolation\, resource estimation and re
 porting. This lecture will focus on data compilation and integration\, dat
 a analysis\, creation of ore body models and estimating methodologies alon
 g with software systems for mineral resources. In addition\, a review of c
 ommon pitfalls\, do’s and don’ts along with examples of good and bad pract
 ice will be discussed. The following are some of the outcomes that will be
  touched upon:\n\n• Develop an understanding of the terminology\, concepts
  and methodologies related to mineral resource estimation. • Assess datase
 ts such as drillhole collars\, surveys\, assays\, lithologies\, topography
 \, specific gravities\, and the importance as the basis for reliability an
 d confidence.\n\n• Basic statistical analysis and understand the implicati
 ons of analytical results.\n\n• What are geologically realistic models use
 d to constrain mineral resource estimations and develop an understanding o
 f limitations.\n\n• Assess data quality and certainty based on factors inc
 luding drill hole spacing\, data vintages\, lithological control and varia
 bility.\n\n• Discuss the merits of resource estimation methodologies and t
 echniques\n
