DESCRIPTION:Zhana Duren\, PhD\n\nAssociate Professor\n	Department of Medical
& Molecular Genetics |\n	Indiana University School of Medicine\n\nWHEN: We
 dnesday\, February 5\, 2025\, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.\n	WHERE: Hybrid | 2001
McGill College Avenue\, Room 1140\; Zoom\n	NOTE: Zhana Duren will be prese
nting from Indianapolis\n\nAbstract\n\nGene regulatory networks (GRNs) are
fundamental to understanding cellular processes and human disease. From a
mathematical perspective\, inferring GRNs presents a challenging inverse
problem. Recent advancements in single-cell and spatial multi-omics techno
logies offer unprecedented opportunities to unravel the complexities of th
ese networks. This talk will present recent computational methods develope
d by our group to address the unique challenges of GRN inference from thes
 e rich\, high-dimensional\, multi-modalities datasets.\n\nSpeaker Bio\n\nZ
hana Duren\, Ph.D\, is an Associate Professor of Medical and Molecular Gen
etics at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Duren’s research f
ocuses on development of computational methods and bioinformatics tools fo
r integration of multi-omics and gene regulatory networks. The long-term r
esearch goal is to answer the key scientific question” How non-coding gene
tic variant act through context specific gene regulatory network to influe
nce phenotype”. For more information\, please visit the Duren Lab Website:
