 abada. The collection depicts Mexico in the wake of its revolution and Cub
 a in the years between the brutal regimes of Machado and Batista.\n\nRicar
 do Wilson\, a creative writer and scholar\, is an associate professor of E
 nglish at Williams College and the founder and executive director of The O
 utpost Foundation\, a residency and arts advocacy organization for writers
  of color from the United States and Latin America. He is the author of An
  Apparent Horizon and Other Stories (PANK Books) and The Nigrescent Beyond
 : Mexico\, the United States\, and the Psychic Vanishing of Blackness (Nor
 thwestern University Press). An Apparent Horizon and Other Stories was sel
 ected as a finalist for both the Vermont Book Award and the Big Other Book
