Prof. Cedric Tolliver will be in residence in the English Department as Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in American Literature. His research deals with diasporic cosmopolitan culture defined by African American, Anglophone Caribbean, and Francophone Caribbean intellectuals after World War II. During his 2013-14 research residency at McGill, Prof. Tolliver will offer an advanced undergraduate course exploring the interdisciplinary nature of African diasporic cultural politics in this period. Further details about this winter 2014 course, “African Diasporic Literature and Cold War Culture,” will be available online, and the course will open for registration through Minerva in summer 2013. The Fulbright Visiting Research Chair in American Literature is sponsored and supported by the Fulbright Scholar Program and administered by the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars.
