The Department of English is pleased to welcome visiting speaker Gregory Phipps, Assistant Professor of English at the University of Iceland. Join us for his upcoming lecture "Narratives of American Literary Pragmatism, from the Nineteenth Century to the Harlem Renaissance" on Monday, March 16, at 4 PM.
Bio: Gregory Phipps is Assistant Professor of English Literature at the University of Iceland. He acquired his PhD from McGill University. He is the author of two books, Henry James and the Philosophy of Literary Pragmatism (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016) and Narratives of African American Women's Literary Pragmatism and Creative Democracy (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018). His articles have appeared in journals such as African American Review, MELUS, English Studies in Canada, The Henry James Review, Studies in the Novel, Literature/Film Quarterly, Philosophy and Literature, Textual Practice, and others.
