There are various competitions across the McGill campus and Montreal that may be of interest to entrepreneurs, such as business plan competitions, elevator pitch contests, accelerator programs, etc. The following provide more details on specific ones currently taking place:
Deadline- March 12, 2019, before 4 p.m.
The OSEntreprendre Challenge is a major Québec movement that acknowledges the entrepreneurial initiatives of young people from elementary school to university (Student Entrepreneurship division) and new entrepreneurs (Business Creation division). It also shares inspiring success stories through its Successful Business Inc. division.
The OSEntreprendre Challenge is deployed and takes root at the local, regional and provincial levels. More than 350 representatives are mobilized in all 17 regions of Québec to help carry the OSEntreprendre Challenge and shine the spotlight on projects in their communities.
The strength and resourcefulness of young innovative entrepreneurs is key to fast forwarding Canada towards the economy of the future. Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) is providing an opportunity for a maximum of 10 innovative businesses from across Quebec to obtain a $50,000 grant to carry out their business projects.
The Challenge is simple. First, find out if you’re eligible, then apply between February 8 and April 1, 2019. The 20 young finalists who will be selected based on the quality of their proposals will be given a chance to present their proposals in front of a jury. CED will then announce the winners.
