Cancellation policy

Cancellations

For registered attendees who are unable to attend the Global Conference on Democracy, Human Rights and the Fragility of Freedom, the following cancellation policy has been instituted, due to financial obligations incurred when organizing such an event:

• No refund if a cancellation notification is received less than 20 business days prior to the start of the Conference, or in case of no-show.
• You may substitute attendees at any time by providing reasonable advance notice to the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP).
• Non-payment does not constitute cancellation.

In the event that the CHRLP cancels the Conference for any reason, you will receive a refund for 100% of the registration fee paid for that Conference.

In the event that the CHRLP postpones the Conference for any reason and the attendee is unable or unwilling to attend on the rescheduled date, the attendee will receive a refund for 100% of the registration fee paid for that conference.

Except as specified above, no refund will be issued for cancellations.

The CHRLP is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of a substitution, change, cancellation or postponement of the Conference. The CHRLP shall assume no liability whatsoever in the event the Conference is cancelled, rescheduled or postponed due to a fortuitous event, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders performance of this conference impracticable, illegal or impossible.

Please note that while speakers and topics are confirmed at the time of publishing a conference, circumstances beyond the control of the organizers may necessitate substitutions, alterations or cancellations of the speakers and/or topics, or a change of location. As such, the CHRLP reserves the right to alter or modify the advertised speakers and/or topics or location if necessary without any liability to you whatsoever.

Any substitutions or alterations will be updated in the Conference program as soon as possible. Please refer to the conference site at efchr.mcgill.ca/2013
