 first time on April 22\, 1970 - Today\, more than a billion people in 193 
 countries now participate in Earth Day activities each year. Over the year
 s\, Earth Day has become the world’s largest environmental movement. Take 
 a bit a time in April to celebrate Earth Day and find ways that you can fu
 rther support Sustainability at McGill and in your daily life.\n\nSustaina
 ble Workplace Certification – relaunched for a new work reality\n\nThe Sus
 tainable Workplace Certification program challenges the McGill community t
 o foster healthier\, environmentally-friendly\, connected workplaces throu
 gh individual and collective practices.\n\nThe program targets areas such 
 as:\n\nChoosing more environmentally-friendly and socially responsible sup
 plies\n	Proper waste management\n	Promoting health and wellbeing\n	Learning m
 ore about how to make spaces more accessible to everyone\nSince the progra
 m’s creation in 2017\, more than 35 teams—including more than 600 individu
 als—have gone through the certification process. The checklist actions hav

 y on campus. From research to operations\, sustainable solutions for local
  and global challenges are being innovated at all levels of our University
 . At the centre of these initiatives\, guiding the way\, is the McGill Uni
 versity Climate & Sustainability Strategy 2020-2025.\n\nThis Strategy comm
 its McGill to three ambitious\, yet realistic long-term targets\; attainin
 g a Platinum sustainability rating by 2030\, becoming zero-waste by 2035\,
  and achieving carbon neutrality by 2040. It is our responsibility as memb
 ers of the global community that we do what we can to achieve these goals 
 to reduce our impact on climate change and contribute positively to the su
 stainability of the planet.\n\nEveryone at McGill has a role to play. From
  changing a personal habit to leading a large-scale project\, we can all t
