Published: 11 November 2015

The Faculty of Education's P. Lantz Initiative for Excellence in Education and the Arts launched their new website this week at knowledge-through-the-arts.ca, providing resources, support, ideas and inspiration encouraging the critical role that arts play in the construction of knowledge.

The P. Lantz Initiative for Excellence in Education & the Arts is coordinated by the McGill Faculty of EducationDepartment of Integrated Studies in EducationInstitute for Human Development and Well-Being, and Participatory Cultures Lab.

The website was officially launched at last week's "A Space for Art" event. The event, animated by the Faculty's Artists-in-Residence Maria Ezcurra and Jimmy Baptiste, also featured live-art making and an elucidation of the ongoing Art Hives project.

Starting in January 2016, the P. Lantz Fellows will be invited to transform some common areas in the Education building based on what they feel the spaces need. Also in 2016, bulletin boards and vitrines will be used to exhibit students’ artwork in the Education building.

Located in the Education Curriculum Resources Centre of the Education building (3700 McTavish Street, 1st floor), the Artists-in-Residence working space is home to the Art Hive, open every Wednesday from 10 am to 3 pm.
