Alexander McComber (MEd 1996) to receive Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science

Education alumnus Alexander Michael Otsehtokon McComber (MEd 1996) has been selected as recipient of an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science from Queen's University. Alexander McComber "has worked with a number of national diabetes organizations including Health Canada's Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative," wrote Queen's Gazette in their recent announcement. The Canadian Diabetes Association (CA) reports incidence of diabetes in Canadian First Nations communities to be three to five times greater than that of the general population. McComber is co-investigator of the five-year collaborative national research effort FORGE AHEAD and the training facilitator of Kahnawake Schools KSDPP Training Program in Diabetes Prevention.
