Published: 17Jul2018

The Faculty of Education is pleased to welcome our incoming Associate Deans to the Dean's Office, and our new Director of the Office of Internships and Student Affairs (ISA).

Professor Alain Breuleux will assume the role of Associate Dean, Academic Programs. Alain Breuleux is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational & Counselling Psychology's Learning Sciences Program. He is a cognitive psychologist collaborating with school teachers and administrators to design and investigate sustainable technology-enabled networks for learning, advanced pedagogical practices, and knowledge management in education. Dr. Breuleux is the former Associate Dean of Infrastructure. His new appointment is effective August 1, 2018.

Professor Dennis Jensen will assume the role of Associate Dean, Infrastructure. Dr. Jensen is an Associate Professor of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Director of the McGill Research Centre for Physical Activity and Health (PATH), and an Associate Member of the Respiratory Epidemiology and Clinical Research Unit with the Montreal Chest Institute's Department of Medicine. His new appointment is effective July 16, 2018.

Professor Lisa Starr is the new Director of the Office of Internships and Student Affairs (ISA), effective July 1, 2018. In this capacity Prof. Starr will replace Professor Fiona Benson, who was also serving as Associate Dean of Academic Programs (Interim). Lisa Starr is an Assistant Professor with our Department of integrated Studies in Education (DISE), Director of the Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership program, and Associate Member of the Faculty's Institute for Human Development and Well-Being (IHDW).

Professor Benson will retire at the end of August. The Faculty thanks Prof. Benson for her devotion and effectiveness working with different files in the Faculty of Education; she will be sorely missed. We would also like to thank Prof. Elizabeth Wood, Associate Dean of Academic Programs from 2007-2017, who has been on sabbatical for the past year. Prof. Wood led a number of new initiatives during her ten years of dedicated service to the Faculty.
