SIS Seminar Series: "Digital Devices in Archive Reading Rooms: Assessing Regulations in the TARO Archives." Guest Speaker Dr. U. Karadkar
Join us for a McGill School of Information Studies (SIS) Seminar Series talk on archival device regulations and mobile applications to assist in archival research with guest speaker Dr. Unmil Karadkar, Assistant Professor in the School of Information at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Krist Muis, Associate Professor, in the the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology recently received the Richard E. Snow Award from the American Psychological Association, divison 15 (Educational Psychology).
The Richard E. Snow Award is given to an individual who has made a significant early career contribution.

Constantinos Yanniris has been awarded the "Outstanding graduate paper" award for the Comparative and International Education Society conference in Toronto next month. His work examines the history (and possible futures) of environment education centres in Greece. Congratulations to Costas!
Dr. Gale Seiler’s research project with DESTA, the Black Youth Network, is featured in SEDE’s Human Rights calendar for the month of February 2014. Each year, the Social Equity & Diversity Education Office (SEDE) invites McGill researchers to share information about their research projects in a 12-month calendar. SEDE promotes local and global community initiatives and human rights efforts, highlighting different research groups and artists in each calendar month.
The Human Development program is proud to announce the winners of the “2014 Article of the Year Award”, intended to highlight and recognize our HD students’ research accomplishments in their respective field of study.
The recipient of this year’s “Article of the Year Award”, is Amanda Saxe, a Ph.D. student supervised by Dr. Tara Flanagan. We would also like to acknowledge the work of Amy Shapiro, Ph.D. student, who is the recipient of an honorable mention award.
The Department is excited to welcome Dr. Lisa Starr to McGill. Dr. Starr moved to DISE from the University of Victoria, and is going to be strongly focused on teacher education. She is experienced in this area and completed her PhD on the topic, so will be well-placed to help us think about how to evolve our programs.
