McGill ArtMcGill Visual Arts Collection Tours

For Homecoming 2023, the McGill Visual Arts Collection will offer an "Art on Campus" tour designed for members of the McGill and Montreal community, prospective students and their families, and general visitors alike.

This hour long tour includes highlights from the Visual Arts Collection public art installations such as, the Friendship Fountain by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney (1875-1942), the James Sculpture Garden, and our Visible Storage Gallery on the 4th floor of McLennan Library.



Rainbow Background Return of the Rainbow

October 19, 2023 – 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Join us for "Return of the Rainbow" McGill's homecoming for current and past 2SLGBTQIA+ students, staff, and faculty. Since 2001, this annual celebration has offered an opportunity for queer alumni to return to the university and reconnect to campus life.

The event is hosted by the Subcommittee on Queer People of McGill's Joint Board-Senate Committee on Equity, the Office of the Provost and the McGill Queer Alum Association.

All members of the McGill Community are welcome! Don't miss this chance to share and hear meaningful stories of intergenerational queerness at McGill over cocktails.

Artificial Intelligence has the potential to transform education - the way we learn and teach, personalizing learning experiences and providing customized tutoring - and also raising many concerns about bias and discrimination, privacy and data security, reliance on algorithms to name just a few. In the past, tools have been tools of discovery but in this case, we are in the process of discovering the tool and its capabilities.

Homecoming weekend is right around the corner and our McGill Redbirds football team will be taking on Concordia in the annual Homecoming game! The game starts at 7:00 p.m.

Join us in Tomlinson Fieldhouse at 5:00 p.m. for our Pre-Game Party. We will have food, beverages, music, lawn games and much, much more!



Dance PartyYoung Alumni Dance Party

October 20, 2023 – 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Come and dance the evening away at Time Out Market. Mix and mingle with fellow young alumni while enjoying great beats from Montreal DJs and great food at this stellar Montreal culinary destination - the best of the city under one roof!

Brought to you by McGill Young Alumni and the McGill Latino Alumni Society, this special Homecoming event is your chance to make new connections and friends in one of downtown Montreal's trendiest spots. Each guest will receive a Time Out Market Privilege Card to choose from a range of cuisines - over 100 dishes from some of the city's top chefs and restaurants. The cards are also valid for drinks at the signature bars in the Time Out Market, from specialty cocktails, to pints from Quebec microbreweries, to a wide range of wines.



Walking on CampusWalk & Mingle on Mount Royal

October 21, 2023 – 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM

McGill Recreation invites all Homecoming guests, alumni and family members to participate in a Walk & Mingle on Saturday, October 21, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. This leisure activity will offer participants the opportunity to connect with fellow alumni and stay active while taking in the autumn air on the walking paths of iconic Mount Royal.

Before the walk begins, you can join us for coffee, tea and light refreshments at the McGill Sports Complex in Tomlinson Hall from 9:00 to 9:25 a.m.
