Professor Tyler Churchward-Venne of McGill Education's Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education has just been announced as a John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF) grant recipient! As principal investigator for the research being done in Exercise and Nutrition to Support Skeletal Muscle Health Across the Lifespan, Dr. Churchward-Venne will receive $344,957 from JELF; $344,957 matching provincial funds.
Thirty-eight McGill research projects have received a combined total of $9.3M in federal grants through the John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF) in partnership with the Canada Research Chairs (CRC) Program. The fund helps universities attract top talent in diverse fields of research by providing them with the highly specialized research infrastructure they need to be leaders in their field. The recipients will also receive matching funds from the Quebec government for their research endeavours.
