The most detailed report on the 1956 Eskişehir earthquake is found in the journal Arkitekt, in an article prepared by İlhan Ersoy, who was the Eskişehir Municipal Directorate of Public Works at the time. He presents the earthquake's impact with powerful images, highlighting significant structural damage, particularly to adobe buildings. Ersoy also notes the city's relatively low casualties, attributing this to prior flood damage that had already led to the demolition of vulnerable structures. His report underscores the urgent need for comprehensive building regulations and high-quality construction materials to enhance resilience against future disasters.

Milliyet announces the earthquake on its cover with the headline "Dün Çok Şiddetli Bir Zelzele Oldu" (A Very Severe Earthquake Occurred Yesterday) featuring photos of the destruction and people spending the night outdoors for several days.
