McGill Dobson X-1 Accelerator Application

The McGill Dobson X-1 Accelerator application requires the submission of three documents: 1) an application form, 2) a 5-page startup plan using the required template provided in section 6, and 3) a 5-min pitch video.

TERMS & CONDITIONS All teams must agree to the following terms and conditions to finish the registration process. 1. You testify that the information provided in your form is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge. You will provide McGill X-1 Accelerator organizers any supporting documents requested to support the information and statements in your application. You understand and agree that providing false or unverifiable information will result in cancellation of your participation in all 2024 McGill X-1 Accelerator events. 2. All material and information submitted in relation to the McGill X-1 Accelerator should be non-confidential in nature and you hereby agree that your information may be made available to the public. The McGill X-1 Accelerator assumes no responsibility to protect intellectual property rights issues that may arise. It is the individual team’s responsibility to protect their intellectual property. Also, it is the individual team’s responsibility to ensure that there is no violation of intellectual property rights belonging to third parties. 3. All team members agree that you are the authorized representative from your team and that you will be submitting the startup plan and completing the registration form. 4. You testify that your company has at least one Equity holding McGill affiliated founding member (student, faculty, staff or alumni.) 6. Your team commits to attending every workshop, pitch practice session and mentorship meeting, in full, as outlined in the schedule. In case of non-compliance, your team may face dismissal from the program. 7. Your team commits to actively participating and adhering to the guidelines of the McGill X-1 Accelerator communications and social media engagement strategy, and gives the McGill Dobson Centre the right and permission to copyright and/or publish, reproduce or otherwise use your name, voice, and likeness in video, photographs, written materials, and audio-visual recordings in the communication and promotion of its activities and programs. 8. Your team commits to creating a company profile on Pitchbook with your affiliation with McGill University and a mention of my participation in the McGill Dobson Centre For Entrepreneurship program. 7. If your startup is not yet incorporated your acceptance to the program will be conditional on providing proof that you have applied for incorporation.

  • Please note that your startup plan must use the provided word template provided here.
  • It must be a pdf document, no longer than 5 pages (+ cover page), and should be named according to the following model:
    • Name Of Startup_X1_year.pdf
    • For example, if a company is named "Technology for All", the file name will be: TechnologyForAll_X1_2024.pdf
