Sandy Phillips, Coordinator for Professional Practice, McGill School of Dietetics and Physical Therapy[The NDG Food Depot] provides emergency food and food services for food insecure persons. This agency greatly appreciates and depends upon funding to provide supervision to dietetics stagiaires. It is a “win-win” relationship. The students participate in an interesting internship, supervised by a dietitian, and help to provide management food services related to food insecurity.
In most cases, the health or social service institutions that accept interns have the professional resources to provide a level of supervision which meets the requirements of educational institutions. However, internship opportunities may present themselves in environments less well-equipped with such resources, and innovative programs may require outside supervisors. With this in mind, Dialogue McGill provides funding to cover special supervisory needs is available to support internship programs.
Application dates for 2022-2023 academic year are June 15, 2022 and October 3, 2022, and January 16, 2023.
