Measure to Support Interns

This internship [Pontiac, Outaouais region ] gave me the opportunity to live and work in a new region with a different cultural background.  During this internship, I learned a lot about the requirement of working in a rural hospital which is a practice requiring a broader skill-set because there are less rehabilitation resources.  I also learned a lot about the healthcare needs of rural Quebec, which is a different reality than in urban areas.  This opened my mind to working in one of these regions in the near future since I saw the advantages of it.

This component of the Dialogue McGill Retention Program aims at supporting financially students who make the decision to intern in a health or social service institution in a region of Quebec located far away from their place of study and who must incur additional costs to do so.

The participating organization will receive the allocation and ensure that the financial support given to the student will be used to cover the student’s expenses related to their internship, in accordance with allowable expenses.

The due dates for 2022-2023 academic year are June 15, 2022, October 3,2022 and January 16, 2023.
