Program to Support the Promotion and Creation of Internships
Call for Proposals (2011-2012; 2012-2013)
On November 1st, 2011, McGill University launched a call for proposals to the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux inviting the health and social services network agencies and institutions to submit applications for funding to implement internship promotion and creation activities for the purpose of improving access for English-speaking individuals to health services and social services in their own language.
The call for proposals was composed of the following three documents:

It was suggested to initially study the Description of the Program. The completed Proposal Presentation Form was to be returned by e-mail to the person identified by the regional agency.
The deadline to submit a proposal was November 21, 2011.
Program’s Implementation Process
In collaboration with the Regional committee for the Program of access to services in the English language and the Table de concertation multidisciplinaire régionale, the Agency evaluated the eligibility of the proposals submitted by the institutions according to the parameters determined (see “Evaluation Criteria” appended to the Proposal Presentation Form). The positively evaluated internship proposals were transmitted by the Agency to the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, accompanied by an opinion. The Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux transmitted the list of internship proposals to McGill University, which decided on the final acceptance of the proposals.
Once the proposals were accepted, the Agency signed an agreement with McGill University. The Agency informed the institutions of McGill’s acceptance or rejection of their proposal and of their budget allocation, if applicable (maximum of $10,000 for the 2011-2012 financial year and $30,000 for the 2012-2013 financial year). McGill University then transfered funds to the health and social services agencies, for forwarding to the institutions, if applicable.
